Turn Plow Questions

Postby Papa's Cub » Mon Nov 03, 2014 3:25 pm

I've almost got everything mounted and bolted down, but, needed a few more pointers before heading to the garden plot. I noticed in the pictures on TM's site that the plow is bolted to the bottom of the drawbar in the outside holes. I thought I read somewhere that the position of the rear tires determined which holes on the drawbar to bolt the plow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom.

The plow should be mounted under the drawbar so it gets the plow down into the soil. You can add spacers if need be. An old timer pointed this out me. His cub was a 48 purchased new.

Start out with setting it up to factory recommendations. Then wear and soil type may require some tuning. Bill Hudson can help with that.

Bob, Bob and CCC Thanks for the sites and advice. I haven't printed copies for future reference yet, but, I will. " Old Bonnie Lou " is all harnessed up and ready to go. I had to promise I'd save a few rounds of plowing for my (12 yr old) Grand Daughter when she comes in from school. I had never dreamed she would take an interest in the Cubs. She's a quick learner and always puts safety first. I have to cherish this time while I can. A few years from now I expect she'll have a different idea on how to spend her Saturday afternoons. Thanks again, Tom.
