1955 Cub LoBoy rear wheel bearing
I have a bad rear wheel bearing and not sure how far I have to remove parts to replace the bearings. Do I have to remove the whole assemble up to the transmission case or is there a simpler way. Any help would be appreciated

I think removing the final drive case is the easiest way to change the bearings. In the long run you will spend less time if you remove it and do it on the bench.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Yup to what Bigdog said. That axle shaft usually has to be persuaded out. A press is best, but a brass drift and Large hammer can do it, but you are taking risks doing it that way.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
