Front Spindle Caster

Postby C. Amick » Wed Nov 26, 2014 1:05 pm

Are the front axle spindles supposed to be vertical or are they supposed to have some castor toward the rear of the tractor? The right one on my tractor angles toward the front of the tractor and the left spindle seems to angle toward the rear. I was thinking maybe I had two left spindles on my tractor. I can't see that anything is bent. I know the front pedestal on my Farmall C angles toward the rear of the tractor.

They should slant slightly forward. This is determined by the holes in the inner tube and on the outer axle tube. Most likely the left side clamp has loosened and the pin and holes in the axle tubes are worn and elongated.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that!

In addition to Bigdog's statement, the right and left spindles are the same.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
