Another important - and better - photo host announcement

Postby lildog » Sat Jan 03, 2015 12:36 pm

In a previous post I announced my intent to close the photo host site this spring. I'm happy to say that will not be the case any more.

Barnyard has graciously agreed to take over the expense and day-to-day work of operating photos.cubfest.com. I transferred ownership of the host over to him yesterday. I hope that you will show him the same support you have shown me over the years as he climbs the learning curve and continues to provide this valuable service to this board.

Please join me in thanking Bill!

John,

Thank you, again, for all the blood, sweat and treasure that you put into the photo host over the last ten years. I'm very happy to see that you and Bill were able to work out the details for it to continue on into the future.

:thanx: :thanx: many times to both John and Bill for all the work. Having done some of this in my past work life before retirement, I know it can be extremely time consuming. Stan

First, I would like to thank John for all he has done over the years to create and maintain the photo host as well as http://www.cubfest.com. In the next few days I will be learning how to navigate around some of the photohost areas as well as learning how the web host's site operates. I am not totally familiar with this provider but it can't be much different than the host site I use for the other websites I maintain.

I will be looking into a newer version of the photohost to see if it can be upgraded and more user friendly. I am not sure that can be done, but the best part is the current photos will be preserved.

Personnaly I think attaching files to your post through the forum is the best way to go. They will be stored on farmallcub.com and stay with your post for as long as the forum is around. Photohosts are okay if you plan to share with other sites.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.
