to anyone thinking about fixing there cub up
just in case there is anyone out there that read all the info about your cub,and woudered if its worth the trouble, i started with a 62 cub and a 5 foot woods mower, i started reading the post and decided i would have a go at it, my cub would hardley mow any grass at all and it was always something wrong, so i did just like the post says and put new battery cables on replaced the hoses changed the oil ,blew the line out from the air breather to the block, but the biggest diffrence was having the radiator recored, after doing these things i can mow as tall of grass as i want and it never bogs down , my wife as fallen in love with it also, so i hope this will incourage anyone that is a doubting thomas the info you get from this fourm is all you need thanks for all the info guys, can't wait to start my second one, everone have a great week

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Isn't it wonderful
I know just how you feel. I felt that way when I first got Ellie runnin right. Everytime I start her up I feel that same sensation everytime. Even now with the problems she has, I still get the same feelings - a little more apprehension now, but it will work out in the end.
The guys on this forum were the absolute greatest to me and it just keeps getting better and better.
Congrats

BJgravely, sounds encourageing I hope to have the same results as my Cub wont mow for didley even thou it seems to run real good until I engauged the pto and hit the grass or a slope....... Currently I have the head off and found a water leak in the two center cylinders and heavy carbon in the exhaust ports so with those things fixed and a valve adjustment made hopefully my mowing issues will be solved. I can't wait to see the results........

radiator???
I am amazed that a radiator re-core would make that much difference.
You bring up another project that I had not even considered.
Thanks for this nugget.

Carl, I will have to ask the co-owner. If I could ever find a snowblower for it (can't get a friend to part with his) it would be a keeper... but as a brush-hog the Cub beats it hands down!
