Moovin on --- again --- well a bit further!
Baby is finally on her wheels, yes all four! Hurrah!
Friday the engine came back from having valve seat seen to, Saturday afternoon fitted
On
Sunday morning, distributor, starter, carb, manifold and a makeshift can and pipe for gas.
turned over with a couple of grunts, advanced the ignition and whopee it ran, as sweet as a nut, a couple of minutes and off, 10 miniutes later started up again no problems
So strip off all the gear again, 2 coats of paint over the next couple of days, hoses, bits and gidgets refitted a bit more paint.
Last night, Tuesday, the front tyres arrived, fitted those after luinch today, reconstituted the front axle, stubs and hubs, wheels on and wow, it starts to look like a tractor again, what do you think?
Taken this evening 30 minutes ago just before it gets dark, The radiator is another story I'll tell it later, will paint it black tomorrow before fitting it.
see you soon,
Pat

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Paint stripper? What ever method...excellent results.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement, it goes a long way to helping with the finishing touches.
See the blue tank behind Baby, that's the witches cauldron, based on the plans of various people on this board, especially Rudi and his excellent picture tutorial, thanks to you all.
Everything has gone through this except the engine, gearbox and back wheels. Electric stuff and carb excepted of course. Massive wirebrishing under a flow of water then either dry wirebrush by hand or emery paper. For the wheels, hood etc., rotary wire brush on an angle grinder almost too heavy to lift!
Wash off with turpentine (I just love the smell of real turps) then the old paintbrush.
See you around again soon,
Pat
PS I've eaten through one set of Rebars nearly in the electro tank!
