Just Bought a Cub... Need Info

Postby TreeBeard » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:13 am

Hi everyone....I am green, and just bought this Cub and was told it was a 57' model by the owner, who had repainted it because the liked yellow and white better than red (said it was red, black, white, and yellow when he got it)... But after driving 8 hours to get it home(4 each way) ; had to get paint off of the serial plate to find out it is a 78'... I got a 59" mowing deck, 2 42" decks, disk hillers, cultivators, and disk plow... all with the mounting gear.... runs like a sewing machine.... Now I need to find the proper lights, decals, light switch, etc.... Any help will be greatly appreciated... I can't find a picture of a 78' anywhere that shows the gauges and what the switch looks like.... Thanks in advance.... from the last few days of research this seems like the best site to get the right information....

Welcome.

First thing is to search through the manuals, PDF and Rudi's ,top of page, free down load. They will answer most of your questions.

Also check the sites of the advertisers on this board, bottom of page.

Welcome! Once you find out exactly what parts you're looking for, you can post a new thread in the VINE section. Perhaps someone on here may have that part and would be willing to sell it to you. Otherwise, there's the site sponsor and/or plenty of parts suppliers on the web.

Congrats on your Cub! Sounds like a haul. If you can, take a few pictures and post them, we'd love to see it (regardless of how it's painted). :coffee:

By "green" you must mean inexperienced with tractors. Otherwise, you'd know that that's potentially a "fightin' word!"

Welcome to the forum. Ask your questions, the guys here love to share their knowledge, and you won't be "green" for long.

Even if you were referring to that "other" tractor.

And as Stanton mentioned, WE WANT PICTURES!

Nice Cub! Lights are always a bit hard to find, but those were used on all kinds of tractors, have a boot on the light with the terminals forming a 'T'.

Enjoy your Cub!

Nice looking Cub. It's always a plus when they are running well! It looks like it has a Fast Hitch on it but the lift rod is off, I hope you got it with the implements. ...and welcome to the site! :coffee:
