Touch Control Block Rebuild

Postby Clownfish » Wed Feb 18, 2015 8:55 am

I am getting prepared to "Rebuild" the Touch Control Block on my 1949 Cub. I see that in some of the posts and "How to's" a parts kit for this rebuild is mentioned. Is this parts kit the Gasket kit that TM sells or is there another kit that contains more than gaskets and O-rings?

clownfish, I overhauled mine last year with a kit from T and M. The kit came with everything needed internally, however, the leather boots, if needed, can be ordered separately. It's not a complicated task. Tom.

There are two different kits based on your TC part number. Make sure you get the correct kit. Not that difficult, especially if you follow the How To's on this forum. Take lots of photos during disassembly...it makes reassembly easier. Also, make sure you flush out the block well, and use HyTran liberally during reassembly.

Good luck!

When you check out TM's site, you'll notice that there are two kits. Choose the kit that corresponds to your cylinder block part number.

Thanks for the responses. I'll get the gasket kit and boots for my block number from TM. The tractor was just sitting for over 20 years and since it wasn't running I don't know if the touch control worked or not. Since it is now removed from the tractor I will try the rebuild before reinstalling it. I'll let you know the results.
