It is your choice. I know myself and other paint the starter and generator black. I also belive that John@#$%^&*() paints his fan shrouds black

On mine, the radiator is a replacement, so it is black. That's all the black, except the distributor cap, coil and tires. Oh yeah, and the spark plug wires and boots.
