I'm glad I changed the fluid because what came out of it was a milkier mess than I would have thought it would be. I only recently noticed the squealing from the TC, due to the cold weather, I suppose. I've owned the tractor for three years now and though I've wondered about maintaining the TC, I've left it be because it seemed to be operating just fine.
I added the fluid, cycled it a few times and drained it again just to get rid of the milky slurry.
As a note, I found the system was under pressure at the drain plug. Close call when it came to ruining some decent clothes. Remember to use work coveralls.

Always, always, always open the fill plug first.
