Air cleaner removal

Postby paw's49 » Sat Jul 23, 2005 7:55 am

For Pete's sake, please tell me there is an easier way to remove this other than the 2 bolts at the block. Can't seem to get any of my tools to reach them.....
Nevermind, just did a search - seems that's the only way. OK, I'll quit whining and get back to it.

it's the only way. By taking off the belts, loosing the generator and removing the fan makes it easier. A little more time Make sure to take off the air line at the block and the top of the air cleaner and blow it clean They get clogged also chek the hole into the block to make sure it's clear.

Finally got it. After I had my whining fit, it wasn't as difficult as I originally thought it was....just slow going.
Thanks!

Hey Rudi....what age does all that patience suddenly appear? I'm a-waitin'!!

I thought Cubs were simple tractors to work on. I suppose that's why I get frustrated when I find nuts and bolts that are difficult to get to. It's all a learning experience for me.....don't have to tell you guys that. I just keep telling myself, hey, if you are gonna keep this tractor (and I am), you need to learn to service it yourself.

As always, thanks for all the help.

Simple answer : - Somewhere between puberty and a senility     I think I am fast approaching the later

Hang in there, it will be very rewarding.

Craig:

Patience slowly creeps up on you. It comes with the loss of hair, increased girth around the middle, shaky hands, frequently dropped and lost parts, forgetting where you laid the wrench, not seeing the wrench when it's directly in front of you and having arms shorter then your vision.

Actually, according to Jeff Foxworthy, us guys don't really lose our hair...it just goes in, then comes back out elsewhere...(ears, nose, etc...)

We need to have a heart to heart discussion about spousal training. I have my wife trim my ear hair (plural, long, thick, bushy) when she cuts my hair (singular).

Be aware that trimming nose hair is only an inch or so away from performing a frontal lobotomy.

Choose your spouse carefully. Keep her happy. Buy blunt-nose scissors.

The wrench part is called here after I have this part.
Now what am I here after.
If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.
