Rear Lift Rods

Postby Glen » Wed Feb 25, 2015 8:34 pm

Here is some info for the Cubs with a drawbar and a rear rockshaft. Here are pics of the 2 different IH rear lift rods, in case anyone wants to see them. The rod may hit the left fender if it's not put on like in the pics. It shows how to hook them up. Pics are from TM Tractor. :)

If you look closely, both rods have a little sideways bend a few inches in front of the fender to give clearance. I have seen many with that bend straightened, and the rod rubbing.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

The Cub I am currently restoring has a square stock welded to the lift rod to strengthen it. I have thought of either leaving it as is, or have a machine shop bend me a new from cold roll for strength. The original appears to be cold roll also so I really don't now if I am gaining anything, as I assume it would bend or give again. Any experiences on this I would like to hear.
