i have been trying to sell my cub off and on all winter because it needed rebuilt and I didn't feel like it. It didn't sell so I replaced the piston rings to get it to stop smoking then it ran so nice I thought maybe I would just keep it. funny how that worked. so I decided to build a 3 point for it this winter. I started by making a drawbar out of box steel and mounting it on the front position up high. then I used a couple extra draft arms off of my case tractor. I built a little rockshaft out of round stock and nuts with the threads turned out. I made the lift arm on a nut with the threads turned out with a little tab that engages on a tab welded to the rockshaft. this way the draft arms can float up and down. I also drilled a hole in it so when I build a 3 point cultivator I can put down pressure on it by inserting a bolt in the hole an pinning it together. while I was at it I made a little step for myself to get off and on the tractor with. the only thing I spent money on was the check chains and the lift turnbuckels. thought you guys may enjoy some pics

Re: my cub 3 point hitch project.
Neat project! Don't you just love fabricating this kind of stuff? I recognize those lift links as coming from TSC or somewhere like that, I have a pair just like them and the welds have broken at the top. I built a 3 point very similar to yours for my loader. Same thing with the chain slack adjusters, I broke the cast eye bolt. ...but I was abusing them. I even bent the lift arms like tin foil. The only things that failed were the pieces I bought. I should have bought at least Cat II stuff.
Your set up should hold up well behind the Cub. Good job, it looks strong and very functional! Nice job on the step too! Enjoy!

Great job.Does it interfere with the pto at all,did you secure the right side of it to tractor or is it still just bolted like a normal rock shaft?

I don't know if it would interfere with the pto, it looks like a mower pulley would hit the rockshaft base plate. I used to have a mower deck and don't want another because it was sort of underpowered and was a lot of work to take off and on. I may make a 48' brush deck that is driven by a drive shaft some day though. the right side of the rockshaft is supported my a piece of angle iron that is bolted under the seat post. thanks for all the compliments guys. I will try to post some action pics of the middle buster and the small 3 point plow I have later in the summer. I plan on building a 3 point cultivator for it as well at some point. being able to swap implements is really going to be a treat.

I never thought about building a three point hitch the way you folks did. That's very creative! Now you can use store bought implements!
