New to the Club! 1949 & 1959 Cubs

Postby farmerdes » Fri Apr 24, 2015 1:13 pm

Hey folks- putting another Cub back into vegetable production. It just showed up and it is a real mess (it is coming from another farm where it has been idle). It was running, very rough. It has been converted to 12v (though what a mess!) A gallon of water poured out of the transmission when we drained it, same for the steering gear box. We are going through it bit by bit, seems like it is in ok condition even though it has been a bit neglected. Changed the spark plugs and then drained and filled the air cleaner. Started up and ran real nice- then changed the oil and filter. Now it will turn but not catch. Sigh. Must have nudged the mess of distributor.... it's all fun.

Welcome to the forum.
You will get it figured out. Make sure you have the plug wires correct.
