Pretty EXCITED....I updated the post in "The Vine" - but wanted to share here. I have obtained the plow bolts I needed from Trinity Logistics. I had to order 100 and I bought 5 pounds of square nuts also.

Painted a bit more today!

Don - below is a photo of the paint and primer. The blue is the same from "Stanton's" post and is the color recommended to me sometime last tear for something I was working on. One thing is true - our contributors are PASSIONATE about paint....Be interesting to see how this one goes. :?:

I've used the Ace International Blue. It's good stuff.

One of the many I enjoy about this site is how much detail y'all put into your projects. While I don't have a Cub yet I have been saving, and rebuilding, restoring what ever I can get my hands on for 50 years. Every project like this I see keeps me inspired to do something else. Great job.

The ACE International blue is a terrific color. You will be happy with the result.

Ken that restoration will turn out nice. I've been watching youtube hoping to see your Dad plowing with your newly restored 1948. Wishing you continued progress, Tom.

I, too, am using International Blue on my restoration of the front & rear cultivators as well as the planter and fertilizer base. I had to stop half way through this project to plant and cultivate our garden. I can hardly wait to clear coat the seed hopper and to apply the new decal I purchased from TST. Having fun, Tom.

My new plow bolts came. Almost done. Regrettably, my business trip to NJ this week was cancelled until next week. I was to have picked up the rolling coulter and decals from TST on my way back North. I will get those next Wednesday on the trip home. The plow bolts I ordered are perfect. They do as was noted by a member of this forum stick up a little bit where the mole board is worn down. It should not negatively impact how the plow works.

Here is the latest photo - not the nicest setting as a good portion of my shop floor is filled with ceramic tile for the foyer project I am working on.

Picked up the Coulter from Tim on Wednesday on my way back from NJ.

Here's a Before and After. It was totally disassembled - each part was sand blasted, primed w/2 coats and painted w/2 coats. I then touch up after assembly. I should get it mounted on the plow later today.

Finished - Now all I need to do is get it dirty. :D

The only modification I made is to the location of the McCormick logo. I did not want it under the bolt for the lift chain. The original earlier model used a hook where my chain attaches and the "m" in "mick was aligned with the center line of the hook. The hook DID Not obstruct the view of the decal. I moved mine a bit towards the rear to enjoy the decal and to ensure I did not damage it with a wrench if I ever had to take the chain off.
