Here are a couple of pictures, from my extremely bad '48 cub valve seat, as you see on the first picture "Cub44" they're still "very small" black spots where rain water leaked into valve area ( pictures shows my 3 angle method on an early cuts) , causing heavy pitting ! Picture #2 shows the end of the seat cutting , just going to start the lapping process ( the seat hole is getting quite large by this time ), cleaning up the tooling cuts and mating it with the "new" oversize valve , with a finish ,pre-grinding cut as well !

Here are two of the valve seats, I can see some very minor pitting, the exhaust seats have a little more, but not much.
