Planting sunflowers and peas

Postby Kirk-NJ » Tue May 05, 2015 3:38 am

Got one of the cubs out yesterday to plant sunflowers and peas with the 184 planter. Usually don't plant nothing except tates before 2nd week in may around here. Supposed to stay warm the next 10 days. Do I take a chance and get some corn it the ground? Anybody else in the north east planting corn this early? It was in the 80's here yesterday, supposed to be the same with a chance of rain tonight.

I'll probably plant a little corn, next week. Sweet corn likes the soil temp., to be warm, for germination. (especially, the super sweet varieties)

Thanks. Better to cultivate with once the crops get high.
