Substitute Woods 42 Spindle for Bush Hog 412 spindle Box

Postby staninlowerAL » Sun May 10, 2015 1:16 am

This is from an old post of October, 2014, by leerinovations about replacing the Bearing Box on a Bush Hog 412 mower:

"Intersteing fact, my wifes uncle owns and operates on of the largest machine companies in OKC and does lots of militqary and goverement contracts, but he felt that making an antique tractor parts was not worth the time and noone would be wanting parts."

I reciently got a WOODS 42 belly mower and was struck by the similarity of the spindle assembly and that of a Bush Hog 412 Bearing Box part. Looks like the WOODS 42 assembly would work if the mounting plate was modified to accept the different bolt pattern. Maybe this will help someone. Stan
