Cultivator Double Point Shovel

Postby PVF1799 » Thu May 21, 2015 6:40 am

I'm curious where you buy new Double Point Shovels for the spring tooth cultivators? If you have purchased them are you happy with the quality? The graphic below is not from my manual but the dimensions appear the same.

I'd like to go as original as possible.

Agri Supply did have them. They have an on line site.

I did find this morning that my local IH dealer still has them on the original part number "25 702 BA" . The cost is $15, no shipping and no sales tax because I can buy them on my tax-exempt farm account. Bob, noted that Messicks had them for $13.79. Can't believe that number still exists in their system. Wonder how many software upgrades that part numbers been put through?

The better ones do not have the slot , but 2 square holes, and are a bit thicker. If you can find ones made by Empire they are of very good quality.

These are 2.79 a piece. I have used them for three years in some pretty stubborn soil without issue.

I've got 2 from IH on order - when they come in I will post pics with dimensions including thickness and weight.

I received my Cultivator Shovels from CaseIH today. The photos below pretty much show how badly worn ours are.

I am pleased to report that these shovels are produced in the USA. With USA Steel. I will gladly pay $15.00 each to obtain parts that are made in the USA.
