McCormick/Deereing planter mounting?

Postby Smoke » Sat Jun 20, 2015 9:43 am

Ok gents. I plowed, disked and drug up about 1 1/2 acres for a corn food plot. I got a Mcormick/Deereing planter with my cub. Does anyone have some picture of one hooked up? I believe I see how it attaches but some pics for clarity would be awesome! The pics I got from barnyard on attaching the plow were perfect and help a bunch!
Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Here is a manual. Probably a good place to start.

This image is a little too big for the forum, but you may see something helpful.

Bob has you covered. BTW, it's Deering. Things spelled with a Deere are something different entirely. :D

Well I think it was auto correct. Certainly didn't want to spread any green around these parts! Lol thanks for the pics. I'll have to sort through the pile and see if everything is there.

The parts book is very helpful for identifying all the parts needed. You just have to hunt around a bit to find things like hoppers listed under "Common Units" It is all bookmarked for easy navigation.

Here is the link, but you should browse the manual sections to see what is there.

I have never seen this part before and I go through the books a lot. My picture says it all.

Special attachment that comes with a special price, usually. A forum member may have one. Don't see them every day :-)

That is a disc fertilizer attachment. I was able to put that entire disc assembly together by ordering individual parts from the obsolete parts warehouse. I needed to make the felt seal from some billiard cloth.

They were scarce at the time on eBay, and expensive. The entire hiller was going for $150, in used condition.
