Smoking exhaust
Hello fellow Cub owners. I have a 1953 IH Farmall Model F Cub that I am starting to work on. The first issue I have is the amount of blue smoke (aka pollution) that it generates. I am using non ethanol gas. Besides a major engine issue, what else could be causing all the smoke? Anybody have any suggestions that I might try? Also, is there an official name for the red paint used on the Cub? I want to at least touch up some rust spots before a full paint job is done. Thanks, Bill from Burnsville, NC.

Re: Smoking exhaust
The blue smoke could be the result of burning oil. This may be caused by the piston rings being stuck. You might try to add Seafoam or a similar product to the gas tank and work the engine hard to see if there is any improvement. The red paint is IH-2150. You can get it at an International Harvester Dealer.
