Another red and white cub

Postby tst » Tue Jun 23, 2015 4:05 pm

Picked up this Red and white square nose, not as nice as Larry's find, but for those keeping tabs on them according to the serial # it is a 64, and its 12 volt

According to my handy TM 'Pocket Reference' it's a 64. The break is midyear between 'Farmall' and 'International' at SN 224703 and 224704. BUT, 224401 is the first 12V Cub (yours is one of the first!) and through 224703 are the 'phantom' run of red and white Farmalls with 302 made.

In 1963 (222501) they went to the square hood all red Farmall, which is pretty rare (2202 made) but by far the rarest is red and white 12V Farmall.

To put it in perspective, in 1950 (picked it because I have one and that is the year of the infamous demonstrator Cubs) they made 22,219 Cubs. That is 427 a WEEK. Also, the total production of the 'long stripe' Cubs was 5,540 between 1975 and 1979.
1971 Cub (Rufus) 1950 Cub (Cathy) 1965 Lo Boy Fast Hitch (Nameless III) 1970 Cub 1000 Loader & Fast Hitch (Lee)

Sorry guys, just a slip of the finger, meant to hit a 4 instead of a 3, its a 64, it had a tough life and needs a ton of tlc!
