Cub for sale...really!!!

Postby Barnyard » Sun Jun 28, 2015 1:17 pm

Since this is more for discussion than advertising, I will not post any links to the ad. But I will ask this.

Why do sellers post pix like these when trying to sell anything?

Took a photo of a thumbnail photo on a digital camera. Why even use the digital camera? A few sandwiches short of picnic.

Well there is always the great shot of a tractor in chest high weeds with trees growing through the draw bar with the discription "ran when parked"

Sometimes a bad pic is better than a bad description. At least you know it's a late 58 to early 63 regular Cub with a C-2 mower and deluxe seat .

When I see pictures like that, I suspect some fraud is involved.
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Marketing 101. If you don't get your message out, with a descriptive, concise description and a CLEAR informative photo, most lookers will pass it on by. If you don't care enough to do this, you don't care enough to care for what your selling.

My favorite pet peeves:

1. Poor photos (blurry, 50 ft. away, taken inside facing open barn door on a sunny day, outside facing the sun)
2. No photos
3. Email for pics
4. Poor descriptions
5. No price
6. No location

Yep, a pretty lousy pic for a tractor worth half the asking price.

That is a Farmall 100 which is worth more than a Cub. Not $6,000.00 more than a Cub, but quite a bit more.

I like this one. From the ad ... "The pictures speak for themselves."
