This was listed today and I went and bought it, is a bit rough but runs good . I think it is a 62 or 63', could not read s/n , will verify year when I get it home first of next week. Did not pay asking price. Will provide more pics next week.

If that hood is original to the tractor, I believe it's earlier than 1962. Photo's kinda fuzzy, though.

I am not sure Don , many things on it are convoluted including the homemade rock shaft etc. I will sort out and return it to original when It comes home Monday. Also there is yellow paint under the red on the hood , I don' think any of this design were yellow , but I could be wrong. The deluxe seat is missing the top back bar and pad and might be bent back .

After looking at a pic of the deluxe seat in Steiners catalogue, I see that the top rail is part of the cushion assembly . Not having had this type of seat before I am not familiar with it.

That is interesting I have never seen a yellow one of this vintage, will know more when it gets here so I can take a closer look and nail down the model year.

Thanks, Berlin

Earliest factory yellow Cubs that I have seen evidence of were 1948.

Nice one Berlin, you got her at a very reasonable price. I saw a French cub with a sickle mower for sale in Ireland (In working clothes) for 3500 euro. Cubs are expensive in Ireland and parts and implements impossible to find. Enjoy :{_}: :{_}:

I'm with Don. It looks like the hood is recessed for the stainless emblems circa 1955-1958. Who knows what was replaced over the years? Perhaps the grill was replaced? I might be wrong, but I think the 4-bar grill, which was the last grill before the change to square-nose, was the probably the replacement available from dealers for all earlier tractors after the change to square-nose was made.

hello,
just joined this forum today so im a real newie at this I also just bought my first farmall cub this week so really excited. reason im posting is that the tractor you just bought looks just like mine, ecept for the seat. my problem is that the serial plate is missing so I don't know anything about it . Is there a way to pinpoint the year without the serial plate . my farmall looks like a twin to yours. also the big question is how do I make a post. don't know where to begin. your help to these questions would be appreciated. thank you.

wjw777, you can create a new post by clicking the NEW TOPIC button at the top of the forum page. You can date the year of your cub by checking as many of the casting codes year, represented by a letter and seeing how many is the same on your tractor. The arrangement is: 1st number is month, second number date then the letter is the year, starting with Q for 1948. The manuals at the top of the page have lots of pictures indicating the different years and changes. Stan
