Generator Mount, bolt size

Postby Roadmaster71 » Mon Jul 13, 2015 1:36 pm

I am trying to bolt the generator to my 1948 Cub.
I have the bracket correctly attached to the generator (referenced discussion here).
Unfortunately the previous owner did not save the mounting bolts when he removed the bracket.
I have tried both 5/16-24 x 1 and 5/16-18 x 1 . They both are loose and only grip when about 1/4" from fully inserted.
Does anyone know the exact bolt type required?
Thanks.

If I'm reading the parts manual correctly (no guarantee), it should be a 3/8 x 1 inch NC hex head bolt. Parts manuals are available through the "Rudi's Manuals" link in the upper left. The parts manual will frequently give the sizes of the necessary fasteners.

3/8-16 x 1 1/8 with lockwasher. The 16 is NC thread.

Here is the manual you should have. Find the part in the diagram and when you read the description, it will give you the fasteners.
