Woods 59 mower
I picked up a Woods 59 mower the other day. It seems pretty good just surface rust no holes. I was looking at a 59c-2 manual and my rear mount and pulleys do not look like the one in the manual, has anyone seen the one I have? It seems to be missing a few parts like the belt guards, skids, side plates and rear pulley cover. all the pulleys spin free with no play.If anyone has any parts for the "used" please PM me. What do you think it is worth the way it is? wondering if I paid to much for it. I would like to clean it up and paint it the Woods orange. Thanks guys

Bob,
Woods made a bunch of different mounting brackets to fit a multitude of tractors. Having said that, your mounting brackets appear to be a home-brewed affair. The Woods 59 Cub applications that I'm familiar with are driven from the other end. Definitely need to do some detective work to determine what you have.

I thought it might be homemade but the bends and welds look professional. I saw it working and took it off myself I am just getting started. It will give me a new project just what I do not need in this heat.

I Agree with Bill. All Woods that I have seen mounted on a Cub (mine included) are with the straight side of the deck forward.

Could it be that the deck is backwards? It will have to check but I think the vaster barckets will bolt on the other side.

Re: Woods 59 mower
Been looking at some photos and I am thinking this may have been a RM59 converted. It would be the same deck if the 3 point andPTO was taken off, need to look more. I am also hoping to find the parts needed to put back. I will check the deck better to see if it is even worth it, but I do like a challenge.

Could this deck an been modified to be a pull-behind instead of a belly mount?

Gonna be hard to hook the belt up to the PTO with the mule drive pulleys on the right hand side if your pulling it. If you turn the mule drive around so the pulleys are on the left hand side the ball on the hitch would face forward.Ken (48 Cub) wrote:Could this deck an been modified to be a pull-behind instead of a belly mount?
Gives me the impression of someone who might have seen a Cub belly mower many many years ago and thought, "Well, I have all these parts laying around, and I need a belly mower". It's an A+ in my book for getting it done (We won't discuss my grade for appearance however )
