My son-in-law, who live on an island, gave me an old 1948 Farmall Cub tractor. I have posted about it here before. Now I am getting serious about getting it started up.
Unfortunately many of his island buddies asked him for parts over the years. So, my tractor is missing all sorts of stuff. I also have a box of parts, most of which I can identify. Then there are the stumpers. I am sure these will be easy to name for users of this forum.
Item one is a two-part bracket (I may have screwed them together myself and they may not be related). At first I thought they might go to the starter as the linkage to the starer rod (which I may have but one end is rusted off). Any ideas on this item?
Item two appears to be some sort of bracket, possibly for a gauge. You will note a gauge next to it. I have no idea where this bracket may have attached.
Item three is a large spring. I suspect it attached to a tool? It is not my seat spring because that is on the tractor (of course there is no seat ... I believe that sits next to my son-in-law's mom's fireplace).
Any help is greatly appreciated. And BTW, my next post will be a question about what the minimum parts I need to get a tractor started.
Thanks!

Your first and third pictures are parts from a master control lever assembly. They were often removed when hydraulics were added to the tractor and assembly was converted to a rear rockshaft. This illustration is from a cultivator manual. But the master control was used with multiple implements.
I don't recognize the item in picture two, suspect it didn't come from the Cub.

Jim, Thanks for that illustration!
This Cub has no hydraulics so it looks like you are spot on that these are manual controls.
I am confused by that second one since I have a full dash with a hole for the ammeter. It may just be something my son-in-law threw in.

Sometimes that's a way to get rid of extra junk, sometimes it works out pretty good. I got a set of grader blade bolster blocks and a flexible clevis thrown in with a flail mower one time "because they were red".Roadmaster71 wrote:...... It may just be something my son-in-law threw in..........
