At that price they should have thrown in some front weights.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I always heard sickle mower pulleys are expensive.
If the headlights are on why isn't the amp gauge showing discharge? Think it's because it's a 30 amp gauge or a battery isn't included in a deal as good as this?

RM Auctions usually deals in rare high dollar items. I have no idea why that Cub was ever listed.
The headlights/ worklight don't look original and the starter rod is different.

Re: I missed this one a few years ago...
Perhaps because it was part of this collection it fetched more. Seems reasonable that the bidders got caught up in a frenzy with all of the other collectibles.

I collect a lot of stuff too, the only difference is their presentation is nicer.

It probably was two people with a large ego and PLENTY of money.an old black washpot or stewpot as we call them brought $10,000 dollars a few weeks back at a local auction when two brothers who did not get along decided to see who would win.

I have refurbished (not stored) a 48 and 49 with a 47 waiting for me to get to it when I feel like it, does that make me a gentlemEn rather than a gentleman?pickerandsinger wrote:I just rejuvenated a 48…..I feel like a real gentleman now….Or not…..

If I was going to spend $11,000 on a tractor, I would at least want it to have a seat that was a color available in 1948.

…..Somehow John I think that if you either buy or sell a 48 for 11,000 the word gentleman or gentlemen doesn't come in to play... ….Owning one of course would be subject to Poetic license….John *.?-!.* cub owner wrote:I have refurbished (not stored) a 48 and 49 with a 47 waiting for me to get to it when I feel like it, does that make me a gentlemEn rather than a gentleman?pickerandsinger wrote:I just rejuvenated a 48…..I feel like a real gentleman now….Or not…..
