If your unpressurized cooling system has now become pressurized, that's a good indication of a BHG. Also, yes, a leaking HG will allow water from the water jacket and oil to mix. Run it long enough and the crankcase will look like a chocolate milkshake.

Be sure to spray head bolts for a few days before you try to loosen them. Kroil, PB Blaster work good. If you have a impact wrench start with low settings and gradually increase the torque.
Very common to break the bolts if you are not careful.

Don't get to excited, it still could be a cracked block. We will keep our fingers crossed.

If it is a blown head gasket, lap the mating surfaces to see if there are high or low spots and get them machined if there are - if the two surfaces are flat and parallel, that will reduce the chances of the head gasket blowing out again.

Give each head bolt a firm hit with a hammer'it will help break loose easer.

Suggest you upgrade to new Grade 9 headbolts before reinstalling the gasket/head. Be sure to use a non-hardening thread sealer like PTFE paste to keep the coolant from wicking up the threads. Do a search for this subject, someone posted on this topic a short time ago. Stan

Also, when you are putting her back together, remember to re-torque the head after giving her the first good work-out. I didn't know to to do that, and the bolts kept loosening up every few months or so until I figured out what I had done wrong.
