Belly Mower
What is the best size belly mower to use under a 1948 cub. I plan to mow the 5 acre yard around the house.

Re: Belly Mower
IH/Danco C3 or Woods 59 are finish mowers and they do a great job when set up properly. You need a motor in good condition. One of the 42's (C2 or Woods 42) would be an excellent choice for taller grass. Other mowers like Pennington work well, but the are scarce and need to be 100% complete. Make sure the spindles and sheaves are in good shape as parts are getting scarce. Woods has an advantage there because they are still in business. Best way to buy one is off the tractor or with a parts manual (above) and missing parts will be costly to find.
