The new one is a Rockford which was the more commonly used on Cubs. The old one is an Auburn. Both were OEM on Cubs.

:Dito: to what Bob said. I have only dealt with one Auburn clutch, and it was also the only cub clutch I have ever seen slipping due to weak springs.

you are part of the problem!!!

There is no problem using the Rockford style clutch in place of the Auburn as long as you replace the disk and pressure plate together. You can't mix and match parts.

Did you ream your pilot bushing after installing?

Remed and put greese on the shaft so the question is do you "wear" in a new clutch

Did you measure the height of the three fingers to see if they needed to be adjusted up or down to the correct height? Did you adjust the clutch pedal for correct free play?

Probably need to adjust the fingers. Lots of posts on that and it's in the "How To" section as well.

The squeaky wheel may get the grease but it's usually the first to be replaced!

If indeed all is as stated and adjusted correctly , good chance your pilot bushing is still too tight.
