Alright I will stop with brake drum pictures after these. Got the holes drilled & tapped and they are done. Time to tape up & prime then install so the finals will be completed.

Whew!!!!! As good as those are, you might consider plating them - silver or gold would be nice. Seriously, I continue to be impressed with your work. Oh, I was confident that it was well within your skills to make those puppies.

Great job on the brake drums. With all the other photos leading up to this point, I had no doubt you'd do a super job. We weren't disappointed.

Thank you! Only 3 things left, hood, transmission & engine. Hood isn't really that bad, going to get it sandblasted and primed and see what needs to be smoothed out on it. Engine needs all gaskets for sure but will check it out when I get into it, ran great but that doesn't mean it don't need attention. Transmission I am getting ready to start on.

I can't wait!! I think these posts are good step by step guides for the forum for extensive repairs. Be sure and go through the transmission rebuild process thoroughly with lots of pictures. That is one of the repairs most people fret over

Re: Restoration Project - Four digit Cub
How many brick nails and roll pins does it take to hold a pulley on? 7 nails, 4 roll pins and a 5/16" bolt all way thru that had to be dug out with a carbide end mill.

Re: Restoration Project - Four digit Cub
Thought this PTO shift lever was home made. Took it out, saw the impressions in it and realized it was original. Put it in a vise and used a plastic hammer and got it back straight & usable. I found this old thread about it. http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewto ... =1&t=61078

PTO shaft and input shaft had a little wear on them, got them welded up and now have to turn them back to size. Have to get three bearings as well. There is a brass sleeve in the end of the input shaft the PTO shaft rides in, I will replace it. It is where the fire is coming out of.

Re: Restoration Project - Four digit Cub
Hi,
Very nice work on the brake drums and other parts.
If you are ever going to use the PTO for a mower or something, you might think about putting in a new shaft, the splines on yours are worn, and a new pulley probably wouldn't stay tight on them. It looks like it had a Cub 22 mower maybe. That pulley looks really worn inside the splines.
Here are parts from TM Tractor if you want to look at them.
The PTO lever guide looked like this one below, and the PTO pilot bushing, in the end of the long shaft has to be good too, I've read guys on here say their PTO didn't work right with the bushing worn.
