People Please

Please before you paint your pride and joy, make sure everything is in working order and the leaks are repaired. If not you will be living with a problem or making a mess of that paint job!

Surface prep is 99.999999% of the work. When I painted old Ugly I thought I'd never get finished sanding.

Agreed, I have seen people go out and buy a tractor and immediately paint it without even knowing if it will run.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

A good paint job never hides poor prep work or leaky gaskets. Good advice, Boss. :coffee:

My primary concern is a non-leaking, correctly running machine. The painting I've done was a result of prettying things up as they're repaired. I'm still reluctant to paint my hood because it still has the original dealer decals from 1948, still fairly legible, and from my home town, Ravenna Truck and Implement.

The squeaky wheel may get the grease but it's usually the first to be replaced!

Ever thought of seeing if someone would be willing to do a custom remake of the decal?
