sorry no bait just can not seem to find the answer .it has champion 549- d18y but I think that is wrong because I was told the tractor is a 1952 but the low boy cub came out in 1955 with serial 1935.

Re: spark plug type
Gary beat me to the answer. Manuals, top of page, free down load. The tune up specs will be found in the Operator's Manual and the Service Manual. You need both manuals as well as the Parts Manual.
If you don't find an Operator's Manual for your exact year, choose the next latest year manual. The specs are the same.
I normally use Champion spark plugs because they are readily available, but have used other brands with no noticeable difference in performance.
For my first engine tune up/service I would use either the Champion D18 or D21 or their equivalent spark plug, brand of your choice. You can always adjust the spark plug heat range up or down at your next tune up.

I have an excuse. CRS.
