Universal Mount Color

Postby PVF1799 » Mon Apr 11, 2016 5:10 pm

Hi gents - I'm beginning the process of restoring the Universal Mount for Rex'48. On close inspection it appears the Universal Mount was IH Red when Dad purchased it in the mid to late 1950's. I was under the impression the UM and all attachments of that period were IH Blue.

Will the real color please stand-up! :D

Thanks for your help - Ken

Only the very early UMFs were blue (like '47). After that, they were red for many years.

Our 1956 came with red, late models were white. That's what mine will be if I paint them. Personal preference.
