Best Product to keep a rear seal in its retainer.

Postby Slappy » Mon Apr 11, 2016 10:15 pm

I was going through my brother-in-law's 1950 Cub to get it ready for the mowing season and decided to replace the rear seal that leaks badly, When I removed the retainer the seal fell out. I know that the original seal is no longer supported and the new replacement is loose in the retainer, but I seem to recall someone using a special type of silicon or perhaps an epoxy to keep the seal in its place. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Slappy,

Your best approach is to send tst (Tim Talleur) a PM (personal message) and get a modified rear seal retainer with seal installed. Those puppies work! He will be sure to respond to your PM. You will not be disappointed with the performance of the modified rear seal retainer.

I can attest to the good (and fast) work of Tim. I sent my retainer to him last Tuesday and it was in my mailbox on Monday!

:Dito: One more very satisfied customer. (Or if you have lots of money to spend, I believe CaseIH offers an upgraded retainer.) Stan
