Has any one seen a tag like this one? This is on a parts tractor I just bought.

The "Q" serial numbers were used for many years on experimental/engineering tractors. Can you find anything unusual about the tractor?

I haven't had time to check it out much, but will look it over this weekend. It has no serial number tag on the bolster or sign that there was ever one there. I will post some pics when I get a chance to look it over.

I took a quick look on break, and another pic to share. The oil pan has a pipe that I have never seen on one before, and the head has studs on the exhaust side rather than bolts only on the front and back. The cast code is 4-13-S on the engine, and it is a long ear dash. The torque tube has a cast code 4-7-R. It is hard to say if these were changes that were made by IH or previous owners. Thanks for your replies I think these old tractors great.

Parts tractor? No, no, no! You may have stumbled onto something special there.
I'd consider an experimental tractor a better find than white paint on a demo tractor.
Very cool let us know how it goes.

I would be interested in any differences from a "standard" C-60 engine and this engine, as well as any other part differences.

The tag covers the place where the serial number would be.

I had a busy day and did not have much time to check the tractor over, but I did get a few pics to share. I have found that the front pulley does not have the ears that engage the hand crank, so I don't know if the engine is seized or not The weather has changed for the better here, so I took the day to work the garden. Planted 4 lb of sweet corn, 2 lb of beans and 1 lb of purple hull peas. We could still have some cold weather here so it may be for nothing.
