Wiring head light and tail light bracket question

Postby ShawnAgne » Wed May 18, 2016 11:26 am

Ok couple of questions here.
1. I need to wire my head lights and the original wires aren't there. Will any type of wire work for a 6V system for headlights?
2. As far as the tail light what is the correct bracket to mount the tail light to the battery box?

Thanks in advance,
Shawn Agne

here is a link from tm tractor that shows the bracket
http://www.tmtractor.com/tm-tractor/gel ... et_001.htm

the wiring diagrams are in the owners manuals, depending upon year they are different, you can find the manuals if you do not have one on the site

Here's the link to buy the bracket from TM Tractor. Note that the light grounds through the mount, so you will need to scrape some paint from the lug where the light attaches and where the bracket meets the battery box.

Is there another part that the light goes on to for this bracket as the post for the light will be vertical? I'm looking at the one that has the switchable white/red filter.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

There is a "C" Clamp that fits over the bracket post. It is shown in the parts manual and you can find a photo on TM Tractor Parts Website.

I just took this picture of the one on our '47 yesterday. It has everything but the light and is original.

Ends up in the bucket of parts I got with the tractor I had the bracket. But what is the extra hook on it for?

There is a small bracket that is used to support the cable (see below photo). I assume that is what you are referring to.
