I heard somewhere there once was a huge collection of salvage cubs some where between Carrollton, GA and Aniston, AL.
Does anyone local know of this place or any other salvage yards near the North half of GA, east AL, Chattanooga, TN, or even western North or South Carolinas?
My father in law was just offered a low boy match to my tractor for free if he helps the guy get his other cub running. He said first thing he knew it needed was rear rims and tires.

Re: GA / AL Farmall salvage yard
I would ask a couple of questions when offered the deal.LilCub wrote:My father in law was just offered a low boy match to my tractor for free if he helps the guy get his other cub running. He said first thing he knew it needed was rear rims and tires.
1) Who is paying for the parts for the other Cub?
2) What is wrong with the other Cub?
3) What is wrong with the free Cub low-boy?
4) How long have both Cubs been sitting, not running?
Why doesn't the guy take the tires and rims off the low-boy and put them on the other Cub? Or use one Cub as a parts tractor?
Just me thinking. This may not be a very good deal.
I have an excuse. CRS.

The other guy is paying for his own parts. The rims and tires are for the low boy. They were loaded with calcium or some other load that has rotted them out.
My father in law is very mechanical and can basically take 2 of anything and make one of them work.
I haven't seen either yet and don't know how long they are sitting but I am sure they are both decent or he wouldn't been getting involved. Aparently the low boy is in better than parts tractor conditions or they would be salvaging it for parts already.
As soon as I can get my eyes on them I will post pictures and may need some suggestions along the way. My father in law has three big green tractors but since he saw mine has gained intrest in the cubs.
Between the three tractor we all have need for local salvage so I am trying to help with his search.

Thanks Dale,
That place in Resaca is on our list already. The place I am trying to find was visited 20 years ago and may be long gone. Had a similar collection to the Resaca place and he thinks the man's last name was Moore. He just can remember were it was exactly.

Not sure. We haven't heard of that place. I have a few Cubs if you need something. Just outside of Bham.

Decent set of rear rims with ags or turfs? He said tire condition is no issue as long as they hold air and he can drive on them.

Re: GA / AL Farmall salvage yard
Wouldnt have anything like that. Since he is getting the tractor for "free" why doesn't he consider new tires? Look at Tucker Tire's selection in Dyersburg, TN. They have good prices and will ship.

Re: GA / AL Farmall salvage yard
Consider obtaining a parts tractor. Will probably be less expensive than purchasing individual new or used parts.
