I didn't tear it apart yet but was monkeying around.

(Waiting for my handy neighbor)

I am unable, now, to get the PTO to engage.

It does look like the bearing may have gotten a new nick on the back side

Here's what I learned today.
Not sure what my lesson was, though.

If I put a bungee on the shifter to hold the PTO engaged, it works.
(I don't like doing that)

Otherwise, the shifter slips ahead a little causing the grinding and the disengagement.

I'm reasoning that the clutch may be worn a little and when I put the strain of high grass, it moves.
Low grass seems ok
