Newbie & What size trailer?

Postby Fire41fighter » Mon Jun 20, 2016 5:14 pm

Hello! I just bought my first Cub! A beautiful garage kept '48. Not new to vintage machinery (I restored a 67 Mustang), I have an 80s Kubota and an 80s JD 400, this is my first Farmall and I cant wait to pick her up. Will the 6x9 Uhaul utility with ramp haul the Cub? Love the forum...lots of great advice...and I took the safety test. Looking forward to posting and getting smart on the old tractor!

Some forum members have used that trailer, with no problems.

That trailer will be okay provided you have nothing else to haul, like implements. I brought mine home with a 6x12 which easily accommodated the cub, flail mower, disc and plow.

I have hauled a couple different Cubs in the Uhaul snall open trailer, I think 5 x 9.
However, in both cases the mower deck would not go in while attached to the Cub.
So watch out for that, or other implements sticking out.

Mine barely fit through the gate on a 6x12 (centers turned in and rims on outside) had about an inch to spare. Harrow would not go in attached on fat hitch centered. I think the gate is same size on both. If the wheels are set to wider with centers turned out I don't think it will fit.
