Source for Replacement Offset Disc Hiller Discs?

Postby Red Paint » Wed Jun 22, 2016 9:59 am

Hello all.

I have a pair of No. 21 Offset Disc Hillers that I use with my Cub for ridging potatoes. Unfortunately, they sat half-buried in a dirt floor barn for years before I got them. Both discs are succumbing to this rust and have broken apart on the edge about 1" back.

The IH part number for replacement discs less the hub (29955B) has long been out of production and there don't appear to be any NOS discs left.

Do any aftermarket hillers have the proper sized disc? If so, I can grind the rivets off my hubs, drill new holes in new blades on my mill, and attach them with bolts. That's assuming they have the proper curvature.

Anybody have a solution they would like to share?

Check Agri-supply, for disks, either on their hillers, or in the replacement disks.

I found older but usable offset sets on eBay. Straight one, new and fine, found per Ed's comment: Agri-Supply.

Haven't tried it, but I have thought about trying to mate a new blade/bearing assembly to an old offset shank. A good machine/welding shop should be able to make it happen.
