Max cut height for a c-2 mower on Cub
I am trying to set my c-2 to max cut height. The rear pivot brackets apprear to be be the limit. Does it make sense to remove the pivot brackets from the angle prices and bolt the angle directly to where the pivot bracket plots to the mule gear? With finish mowers I would just raise the deck with the TC but with the C-2 single pulley If I do that I through a belt. I really like the C-2 for what I want to do.

I turned the brackets upside down and used the holes that held the arms in the highest position. You could try your fix with some washers or a spacer to replace the thickness of the bracket. I'd guess mine mows at about 6-8" high. I like to leave the pasture grass that long as I think with our low rainfall the grass stays healthier. I had a little trouble getting the idlers correct so the belt wouldn't jump off but haven't had any problems in a while.

Bob, Thanks. I did not think of that.
It looks very tight on the left side of the mule gear. Did brackets get in the way of the pulley?

I didn't have any problem with the brackets and pulley. I did have to almost remove the pulley to get the belt on the left one.

Edit: Just took a look, there is about 3/8" clearance between the bracket and pulley on the left. If you leave the bracket out and use a spacer, it will raise the mower about 1 1/2" more. Another option would be to drill new holes somewhere in the middle of the brackets depending on how high you want to cut.
