Fan hub leaking oil

Postby Cub driver » Wed Jul 20, 2016 3:54 pm

I refilled the fan hub according to the service manual and apparently there is a seal that is leaking all the oil right back out. I cant find anything using the search tab and find no schematic or diagrams online. Any ideas?

Go to the MANUALS link above and download the Owner's manual for your model. Here's the fan hub lube instructions for a '52 model:

After filling did you turn the hole to the bottom to let any excess oil above the stand tube to drain out?

Yes sir, exactly as it says in the manual. I didn't know there was no seal as tst says above. I think I'm going to take it off and take it apart any way, just to check it out.

Do not try to turn that nut that is in the fork. You have to hold the nut and turn the shaft with a wrench.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

From the factory when new the fan hub had a O ring type seal pressed into the hub. This is not replaceable..
