Local Farmall Cub Club

Postby Our Pass Thyme » Wed Aug 03, 2016 9:42 am

Hi. I did a quick search on topics but came up dry on the Topic of Local Cub Clubs. Is this something other members might be conducting, likely on an informal basis? I am interesting in starting an informal type Cub Club for members in my local area where we would "hang out" every other Saturday afternoon as a "Club". Does any one else do this or be interested? -Tom

Other than the CubFests, which are organized and advertised, if anyone is getting together, it's probably being done on an informal basis. The people who attended your first CubFest would be the logical ones, assuming they live the closest to your area.

There is a local group (probably <10 people) that gets together weekly to work on small stuff/swap stories. I've tried to wrangle an invitation, to no avail. Start your own by inviting some and see what happens.

Bill, anytime you are in the area, you don't need an invitation to stop by! As I wind down vegetable farming in the fall, I will put together a local club. In the meantime, there will be an opportunity in this Topic to take suggestions, build members, and organize an informal club. Maybe this can also work as a general template for others as well. Thanks. -Tom

I am thinking The (Maine) Cub Club, Chapter 1, could meet 1st and 3rd Saturday afternoons or evenings for a couple hours or so. Get to know and grow the local Cubbers - other activities to be determined. What do you think?

Let's try to schedule a preliminary afternoon get together for a "setup" Maine Cub Club meeting this 3rd Saturday in September. Please let me know if you are interested in attending and can make it. Thanks. -Tom
((If I can figure it out, maybe we can stream it live if you want to virtually attend??)

I think I will be able to stream the preliminary Maine Cub Club Meeting if I can secure the bandwidth. If you are interested, the link is: http://www.youtube.com/user/rileyannesdad/live . Regardless, watching live may be a little bumpy but it will be archived on my youtube channel for later viewing which will play smoothly. I hope this will allow for comments and suggestions to enable the formation of a good first cub club that can be used as an example for other clubs around the Cub World. -Tom :tractor:

Its too bad we all didn't have addresses and telephone numbers of all of the members that look at this web site. I would enjoy getting together with some other local Cub owners informally to help fix Cub mechanical problems, make modifications and help each other out, even if its just from a phone call. But I am not sure actually showing this information on an open web site like this wouldn't be detrimental to my health.

If everyone just put their zip code and state / city in their profile that would be a big help.
BTW the correct format for profile "Location" is: 2 letter State [comma] City = PA, Middleport

There is also an open group for each state, which seems to be an underused feature of this web site.
