Cat 1 drawbar

Postby CDD » Mon Aug 22, 2016 8:15 am

I just bought this 1954? and it had two of the cat 1 drawbars with it, not attached and the lady said her husband used it on there. One of them has a ball on it so I imagine pulled a trailer with it.
I am not sure how these would attach.
I do know that you really cant do too much with this type of drawbar
I am searching for a local drawbar to pick up.
Any help/pictures would be appreciated

What you have are the rear tool bars for a 144 Cultivator. They are not drawbars.
It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

Yes I know that, I just don't have a picture of the straight cat 1 drawbar. Similar picture attached

I would say that lady don't know what she's talking about. That type drawbar only works on a 3 point hitch unless he made some type of brackets to bolt it to the finals. It would be easier to find an original drawbar for a Cub and use it, be safer too. Here's a picture of an original minus the big chunk of steel bolted in the middle the rest is original.

They are shippable, and at least two out of the three main site sponsors have them in stock at very reasonable prices.

Hi,
Here are pages from the Cub owner's manual showing the drawbar.
You also need 4 of the tapered head bolts that IH used to hold on the drawbar and some implements, maybe the cultivator parts that are on it in your picture above.
It looks like in your pic one of the drawbar bolt holes on the left side has a stud in it. If the stud does not come out so you can use a bolt, you will need a tapered nut for the drawbar, with a taper that fits in the hitch bracket.
The bolts are below. :)
