Cub Carburetor- Garage Sale

Postby Dale51 » Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:15 am

The next door neighbor is having a garage sale this am so I went to see what they had.
I found a IH carb. for a (49 cub as per) It is pretty beat but salvageable
only it is missing the main metering jet Part #351804R1. Does anybody know where to get a new one? IH dealer laughed & said no way!!!!
By chance does any body have one they would be willing to sell or part with?????
By the way he got the carb. from his father who just sold a cub
& the gent did not want the old beat up carb.
I gave a whopping .50 for it.
If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

That is a sweet deal....
Sometimes it is suprising what dealers have in stock, try C&G. My local Cub Cadet dealer (family ran an IH dealership way back) has also suprised me with what he has in the back room, may be worthwhile to give him a call (401) 849-4434.

Always nice to get a good score when 'saleing'.

Dale:

I think you got a great deal. Hang onto it. You might be surprised... I was reading somewhere that somebody with a carb actually manufactured a metering jet from a pre-existing part ... will have to look for that topic..

BD, ya I agree with Country be a sport and maybe up it to 4 times...
