Postby mikes5785 » Mon Oct 10, 2016 11:44 pm

I just purchased a 1968 Lowboy with a fasthitch, (and some other implements) I'm wanting to move it over to my 55 Lowboy. What are some things to check/refurbish, like bushings or other items???? while doing this transfer? any gottchas to be aware of

is this change over even possible

Hi,
Here are some pages from Cub LoBoy owner's manuals if you want to compare how the hitches looked over the years. 1 and 2 are from a 1957 manual, and 3 is from a 1965 manual.
Looks like the lift rod on the left side has to be bent correctly, so it doesn't hit anything. :)

You might want to check your front rock shaft to see if it has a place to attach your helper spring ,it should I know my '56 has it, other than that it Shouldn't be a problem switching them over. Check for wear and Switch over the bushings on the fenders also. Grease it up and should be good to go. some implements for the standard cub could be used but better off to buy implements made for the loboy fast hitch.

Bolts right on with no changes on a loboy between years, fender spacers need to be swapped on right side
