I was mowing this afternoon and heard a clank, but wasn't sure if it was metal or a rock. About the same spot on the next round the belt came off. I stopped the C-2 and tractor and got off to check the belt. The inside idler pulley was gone. There were a couple of washers under the tractor and the keyed bolt was still in the slot. I found the pulley about 10 feet behind the tractor and I think I may have burned my leather glove when I picked it up. It's been in use for 20+ years so I guess I can't complain. I have one that I took apart and rebuilt, and am guessing that I should probably change the other now too. Hoping the belt didn't get so hot that it's ruined.

Re: Idler pulley bearing froze
Had a idler pulley do the same on a Cub Cadet 125. At least it is decent weather to be out working on one. If the other one is getting the wobbles, probably a good time to change it.
