I am not sure of the year but I think it was a 37 Chevrolet that daddy and a friend used leather for rod bearings on the 37 I don' remember how long they lasted.

I recall cutting gaskets out of cereal boxes for a motorbike.

Would have guessed "sows ear" for the contest though....

When my dad's shirt came back from the laundry they had cardboard in them. I don't think he ever used it on the cub, but I remember a couple lawnmowers that ended up with gaskets out of it.

About hanging on to stuff.....rule of thumb.....never throw away today what you might have to spend money on tomorrow.
Why is there never enough time to do the job right, but always enough time to do it over. :?:
